The state of Jalisco consists of many little towns and cities. Situated on the Pacific Ocean coastline, this state offers many activities for the tourist to do and see while staying in one of the communities. Barra de Navidad is located on a sandbar with a lagoon on one side and a bay on the other. You find restaurants and fine little shops within this mostly pedestrian area.

Boca de Iguanas has a RV park and two restaurants in an upscale vacation resort community. The beach area is perfect for small children to enjoy. Careyes is a beachfront vacation resort community. On the eastern side of Jalisco, Cihuatlan is a business center nearby Melaque. West of Melaque is Cuastecomates featuring some beachfront restaurants and a hotel.

North of Barra de Navidad sits Jaluco, which really has nothing for the visitor, but some nice restaurants. La Manzanilla has small surfs that comes from time to time and has become a location filled with villas and bungalows. Melaque offers a great beachfront location fro many different activities. Puerto Vallarta is located on the coastline of Jalisco and has become a huge tourist community.

Some good surfing has been done in Tecuan, but that is all one has to do there, as there are no vacation resorts or hotels. This area seems popular for bird watching and fishing as well as hiking. The beautiful area of Tenacatita offers snorkeling, surfing and some fine restaurants on the beachfront. With all these vacation resort communities in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, one will find the idea location and spend some time in the other surrounding communities.

To visit the active volcano in the southern part of the state near the state of Colima, take a bus ride or a guided tour and see the famous volcano in Mexico. Because Jalisco has latitude of twenty degrees, the weather compares to Hawaii or Jamaica. Winter months are warm and comfortable, while summers are hot and a bit humid. The rainy season for this area is from June to October, but the rainy days do not happen as often as one would think.
